Surprise!

My brother and his wife are due with their first baby 3 days after me. Much to my shock and amazement, they called yesterday to let me know that little Evan William was here!!!!!
It's confirmed... I'm going to be pregnant forever!!!!

What a weekend!

I will never say I don't have plans, want plans, or anything like that again.
Travis and I went out on a date Friday night, and while drinving home debated how to spend the rest of the weekend. I said I wanted to relax at home and then enjoy my shower, thrown by the church, on Sunday. He said that sounded perfect. We got to my brother's house to pick up the boys. Within minutes we were greeted by my parents who drove down to surprise me and be at my shower. As we were leaving that night, my sister walked in with her two kids. She had the weekend free and her husband was busy so she decided to drive down. Saturday we walked the mall FOR HOURS, I was hoping to coax this little man out since there were so many family members. No such luck.
Today was my shower, it was amazing! I was so touched by the generousity of the women in my church. This guy will want for nothing!!! He has beautiful handmade blankets, sweaters, hats, and more little toys and cute clothes he's going to know what to do with.

Saturday fun!

We met my college roommate and a friend of hers (John-John) for breakfast this morning. Then after some running around and general house cleaning we had a campfire and cooked our hotdogs for dinner.

playing...

Cooper has decided playing alone is better than playing with his brother. I came out of the bathroom to find Nelson on the steps, it's the only place he could be that Cooper wouldn't get upset at him.

Once Cooper saw me taking a picture of Nelson he needed in on it... This was his "motorcycle team" he said they will all be racing in the backyard afer lunch today.

Mommy knows best!

Both boys are to the stage that naps are for babies and they are not babies. (After all, they are in pre-K and preschool.) After lunch and errand running we came home for "quiet time". I managed to catch both of the boys sound asleep! Cooper woke up when the camera turned on, but fell asleep again right after the picture was taken. Nelson was out cold for the entire thing.

They have arrived!!!!

After more than a month and a half we have bunk beds! Jolene, my new best friend at Weekends Only really came thru! When I called Friday she got in touch with corperate headquarters, had a set delivered (5 days early) and had our name on them. We also were able to get them for the price that was advertised back in July, rather than having to pay $100 more (the new price).
Cooper did a great job helping put them together.

Oops...

If it's not one thing, it's another. Now that my bedrest has been significantly reduced I'm starting to carry on with my normal wife and mom life. I made the boys an actual lunch today, instead of just slapping something between two pieces of bread and calling it good.
I cut up fried chicken, got them applesauce and put garlic bread in the oven (Cooper's favorite). I give them lunch, bring them to their playdate and come home to take my couogh medicine and go to bed.
Tonight Travis comes in the door all excitetd because he smells garlic. I told him we were having leftover spaghetti for dinner and a tossed salad. He asks about the garlic bread in the oven. OOPS!!!! That garlic bread has been "warming" for 5 hrs!!!! We had garlic coutons on our salad, there was no bread life left in that loaf.

Ah, the little things...

We took the boys out tonight to find a stuffed animal for the new baby. Cooper was very worried about the baby being scared in the hospital after he was born, he wants to make sure there is someone to keep him company until he gets home. While I was checking out at the store, Travis took the boys to the car and pulled it around to pick me up. I got in, and Travis was laughing. He proceeds to tell me that when he (Travis) whistled at me Nelson says, "Daddy, you're my hero. You can whistle."
Gosh, to think all it takes to make a "hero" in a 3 yr old's book is the ability to whistle...

Daddy!!!

This weekend was filled with lots of work, but we also made sure to take plenty of breaks to play. We took a chunk of time on Monday afternoon and went to Grant's Farm. The boys loved being able to show Travis around!

Our Family Library!

Since the beds weren't in, we decided to tackle the old nursery. It was painted yellow, now it's a deep olive green and is the family library!! The boys and I are loving the new space.

Changes everywhere!!!!

We finally got around to painting the boys' room and putting up the crib. Now, we just have to get the bunk beds in! Hopefully, this coming weekend... Keep your fingers crossed.
