This is my definition of an afternoon nap...
This is Cooper and Nelson's definition...
The purpose of this blog is to allow our family and friends to stay connected with us and the kids.

Dad's away, we will play.
Travis has the "privilage" of being on the Germany rollout team. That means he went to work at 7AM to do his scheduled installs and then had to stop doing that at 11AM to begin working with 70 branches in Germany. He is helping someone else who is in charge of the rollout. As of 5PM this afternoon, they got someone else to help, and he (Travis) was hoping to be able to leave his office at 10PM tonight.
I had to make the best of it, so we had fish sticks on the family room floor while watching Lord of the Beans. That wasn't enough fun so the boys and I made chocolate chip cookies and had to "test" them with a bowl of ice cream.

Cuteness from the past week.
To recap, Maddox was healthy. Cooper had a fever from Sat until Sunday afternoon. Nelson got a fever starting Tuesday night and it stuck around until Thursday afternoon. We decided that after 7 yrs of looking at primed kitchen walls to paint them. I took the opportunity to also update the cabinet color as well.
In spite of the craziness the three boys stayed absolutely adorable and behaved like angels. Travis and I think the older two are going to be "rewarded" this week with a trip to their favorite place on earth, McDonald's (or Applebees, or Steak and Shake. It depends on who you ask and what day it is.)

Good News, Bad News...
1. Good news, we openned the cans of paint and painted the kitchen walls, and the cabinets. Bad news, the cabinet doors are still in the carport waiting for their turn with the Egyptian Nile colored paint (that's just a fancy word for deep green).
2. Good news, because the cabinets were exposed for all to see, I cleaned them out! My tupperware has never been so organized!!!! Mom, you would be so proud!!!! Bad news, the tupperware will be a mess as soon as I get to the fridge and cook again.
3. Good news, the floor under the fridge is so clean, you could eat off it. Bad news, my fridge is right now against the living room wall! It's a pain to walk into the living room just to get a Diet Coke.
4. Good news, CLR Kitchen can clean everything! Bad news, it cleans the cabinet door hardware so well, that paint will no longer stick to it.
5. Good news, I found the perfect place for Maddox's highchair, it's out of the way and I don't trip over it trying to get to the kitchen table. Bad news, for it to stay in its "perfect place" the fridge will have to take up permenant residence in the living room.
Without further ado, previews of my new kitchen!

Note to self!
Sher, when you think you are bored and need something to spice up your life (since 2 trips to the doctor's office, a hospitalization, and three sick kids in 5 days isn't enough) save all your previous settings before changing your blogger template!!!!
side note: if I am not giving kudos to your blog, and you would like them (kudos) send me your URL, I didn't save the previous ones before I re-did this template.

Thanks Lindsay!
While home this past weekend I spent a few hrs with Lindsay. She had the most "beautiful" gift for me! It's a pearlized/pink/white mini Christmas Tree. To make it a little more "punchy" she purchased glitter ornaments! I love the purses, high heels and (as Cooper calls them) hoochie boots!
I hope a place in the blog is the perfect Thanks!

What a week!
1. We went up north for the weekend. Evan got dedicated and we got to see Ryne and Sophie too.
2. Our house fell victim to the Ice Storm of 2007.
3. Maddox spent a night in the hospital with dehydration and a high fever. Every test they ran came back negative. (I guess that's good) He had to have an IV in his forehead, they couldn't get a vien in the arms, hands, or feet.

A sad day.
My Kodak 2.0 megapixel DC3400 died today. She was a wonderful digital camera. She was a gift 7.5 yrs ago when Travis and I got married. She caught Antigua, W.I., 2 trips to FL, the birth of our 3 wonderful boys and the antics of them since. She will be missed. However, her slow processing, heavy weight, and large size will not. Travis is thrilled to know that we can get something that fits in a pocket and weighs less than Maddox.
Tonight I will lay her to rest, mourn for a moment and then head out to Best Buy to replace her.

This one is for Travis's family!
No one else will fully appreciate this picture. For the non-Ferris family memebers that frequent our blog, Travis has to have my hair in his fingers to fall asleep. This was rather difficult a yr ago when I had short spikey hair. During that time, he would catch himself rubbing his own head and play with (what's left of) his hair. Maddox has recently discovered my hair, of course it's the hair at the base of my neck, so when he pulls it I want to scream! While we were playing games tonight he found his own hair.
Family game night
We used to do this all the time when I was on bedrest. We would end the week with family game night.
Cooper got a new set of games for Christmas from his Uncle Eric and Aunt Melissa. Tonight we played Checkers and Bingo.
Cooper and Nelson tend to be textbook first and middle children! A perfect example of this is the way they counted their checker pieces before we started the game...

Justice League
As the mom of boys and the wife of Travis I am all too familiar with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Hawkgirl. I'm about to become more familiar! We just found the complete second season of the Justice League. The boys have found great enjoyment in watching this show while on their "great big bouncing balls"(as Nelson calls them).
**You are seeing clearly, the boys are in tank tops in January. They got boxer briefs and matching tops for Christmas, they won't part with the shirts. I'm constantly washing them for them to wear over and over again.

The perfect weekend!!!
We spend 4 days together as a family. I couldn't have asked for anything more. Travis and the boys put together model airplanes! Cooper loved it, I have to go find more wooden models for him to do.
Nelson has fallen in love with Travis's X-Box. More specifically, Travis's new Cars game. He has done very little this weekend that doesn't involve a controller in his hand.
I read a book, took a bath, and just enjoyed the 3 boys and 2 dogs. It was perfect! Now I'm going to go start the countdown until the boys go back to school on Wednesday and I can really get my life back in order.
